Every once in a blue moon you get the pleasure of watching a skeeballer go from a newbie to an all-out stud right before your eyes. And Rowdy Roddy is definitely one of those instances. He joined the Charlotte league back in Skeeson X as a rookie and claimed Rookskee of the Year honors with a 32.09 average (calm down, it was a moneyball skeeson). And over the next few skeesons started to really hone in on his 40 and eventually started rolling hybrid throwing in hundos occasionally. With that he started to become one of the elite rollers in the league, capturing a few MVSkee titles, Hundo titles, etc etc.
But the critics kept hounding him for not having a Champions Chalice under his belt. So in Skeeson XV, he joined forces with Johnny V and Amethyst and he finally captured the elusive Chalice under the team name “Stand United, Stay Skee”.
And now in Skeeson XVI they’re back at it, (albeit with a different team name) and Roddy shows no signs of slowing down. Last week he rolled a 483 match, with Frames 5,6,7, and 8 looking like this: Full 50, Full 50, Perfect Game, Full 50. Unreal!
Most folks strive for a Full 50 just once during their skeeball career. But Roddy pounded out 3 in one match, and a Perfect Game just to put the cherry on top.
Now the question is, can he take his skills to Chicago this fall for the Super Roll and continue the streak of Charlotte dominating the rest of the country? Or will one of the other cities finally step up and dethrone Charlotte?
Super Roll is gonna be here before you know it: November 3rd, 2012 Chicago, IL
